Monad is a L1 with a ground up redesign of consensus and execution systems to optimize for performance, while preserving full compatibility for EVM smart contracts and Ethereum’s RPC API.
Monad's optimized architecture and efficient access of state enable near-zero gas fees, making it possible to build consumer dApps that were previously unviable on other EVM chains. Given Monad’s scale, it is far more resistant to gas spikes caused by network congestion.
Monad achieves 10,000 TPS (or 300M gas per second) with 1-second block times and single-slot finality. These performance improvements are accomplished while preserving backward compatibility.
